Salut! Wine Tasting at St Paul's, Saturday 25th July
"What an enjoyable evening!”
Such a comment resounded at the end of an evening filled with information, friendly discussion and of course tasting wines.

Benedict Hazel led us round the world; from Spain’s Cava, to Viognier in France, to Sauvignon Blanc in New Zealand and on to Canada with a white wine blend and ending in England with a Bacchus.
In the middle of his presentation there was a quick round of 'Heads and Tails' guessing information about a blind tasting of a Chardonnay from Australia.
“To drink responsibly” was the phrase of the evening: spittoons were at hand.
It was lovely to hear the chat about the colour, the smell and of course the taste of the wine. No real answers, taste is a personal preference as are liking and disliking the wines.

On top of our social evening, we were delighted to make £979 towards Youth Work in the parish which was kindly raised to £1,084 with donations from members of the congregation the next day!
Fantastic!
A huge thank you to everyone who helped prepare, set up, pour the small tastings and clear up at the end of the evening. And a special thank you to Benedict for guiding all the way.
