Parkside Post Advent & Christmas Edition 2021

Carrying a brand new masthead, the Advent & Christmas Edition of our parish magazine Parkside Post is hot off the press! Parkside Post will be delivered free of charge throughout the parish in the coming days. If you can't wait for your copy to drop through the letterbox, you can read it right here! Just click on the following secure link to download the digital version: Parkside Post Advent & Christmas 2021.pdf

Inside you will find an Introduction from Revd Susan exploring the meaning of Advent. In 'Advent Waiting', she says:  'During these four weeks before Christmas, Christians are reflecting on the time when Jesus comes into the world with something unplanned, overwhelming, something that makes an enormous difference. It is something we long for and yet we don't quite know what it is going to entail'.

If you plan to join us for worship, you will find all the dates and times of our many beautiful services during Advent and Christmas. There is also news about concerts, our Nativity Festival and other happenings at St Paul's. (Don't forget to come for our Christingle Service on Sunday 12th December at 4 pm, which will be followed by the lighting of our community Christmas tree).

Parkside Post also contains a delicious recipe for chocolate orange biscuits. There is an interesting update on St Paul's Pantry by lead organiser Helen Lowe, just over one year into this highly successful community support venture. You'll find a colouring page for the children, and a Christmas poem to get you feeling all cozy and mellow as we pass through Advent.

We hope the 'waiting' will be pleasurable. Happy reading and do come and join us this Advent and Christmas!
