In her introduction Revd Susan considers the biodiversity and climate change crisis that threatens the wellbeing of us all and the future of our planet. She notes that a desire for change in the way we conduct our lives and how we manage our consumption patterns is vital. Once we understand our 'ecological footprint', this can lead to a desire to simplify our lifestyles. We will be reflecting on what we can do as we celebrate this Season Of Creation. There are tips on how to be more eco friendly from the A Rocha Eco Church Project, in which St Paul's participates, on page 14, and a link to an eco footprint calculator to help you assess your environmental impact.
If you live in the area, you will of course be familiar with the very distinct tract of open countryside we have on our doorstep in this part of London: the Wimbledon & Putney Commons. David Hince, Wimbledon & Putney Commons Conservator, reflects on the ever-changing seasonal beauty of the Commons and the special joys he appreciates during the year. David also discusses the vital work of the volunteers in protecting, maintaining and preserving this rich natural treasure for us all. David's article is on page 12.
We also congratulate our resident St Paul's dancers Dance Addiction on raising £1,000 in support for Ukraine through their fundraising dance. There's news from St Paul's Pantry; an update from Putney Choral Society; dates for your diary at St Paul's; a colouring page for the children...and more.
Happy reading, happy Creationtide!
