Saturday 7th December, 7pm Putney Choral Society gives a performance of Bach’s Magnificat and Charpentier’s Messe de Minuit.

Saturday 14th December, 3pm (matinee) and 6pm Wimbledon Choral Society Christmas Concert for Choir & Audience. Come and hear the choir in full voice with a mix of familiar and new items and exercise your voice by joining in the traditional carols. Pieces in the programme include some beautiful music written or arranged by contemporary composers. Examples are John Tavener’s stunning The Lamb, Becky McGlade’s beautiful version of In the bleak mid-winter, Cecilia McDowell’s A Heavenly Song and a new take on Away in a manger. Wrapped around these will be traditional favourites like The Holly & The Ivy, O Come, all ye faithful, Hark! The herald angels sing and Jingle Bells.
