Annual Parochial Church Meeting (APCM): Results of Elections and Report & Accounts 2018

Results of elections to the Parochial Church Council (PCC) held at the Annual Parochial Church Meeting (APCM), which took place in the St Paul’s Community Centre on 15th April 2018, were as follows:

Bob Essert and Margaret Brown were re-elected as Church Wardens. Kana Jones was elected to the Parochial Church Council (PCC) and Norman Allen, Jo Mulaki, Claudia Porter, Elizabeth Simon and Philip Warner were all re-elected. Andrew Keat has agreed to be co-opted for 2018/19. Other continuing members of the PCC are Marcel Bancroft, Daniel Chandran, Joan Endean, Nicky von Fraunhofer (ex officio) and Doreen Hewitt.

There are still two vacancies which can be filled during the year, so if anyone would like to join, please speak with Margaret Brown.

Christine Brown, Doreen Hewitt and Joan Wilson, were re-appointed as sides people (who act as stewards and welcome people into the church before services and at other times).  More ‘welcomers’ are needed.  Please contact Bob Essert or Margaret Brown if you are willing to join this group.

Printed copies of the APCM 2018 Report & Accounts are available on the table at the back of the church for those who have not yet had one.

St Paul’s Easter Garden 2018

Thank You

Dear all,

We want to thank you for a wonderful and memorable farewell service and party afterwards.

It was good to see so many people from the past 19 years at the service and to have the opportunity for conversation afterwards. We enjoyed the food and the speeches which represented different aspects of our time at St Paul’s.

I am deeply grateful for having been given the chance to minister at St Paul’s, to travel together a substantial distance and to have been involved in so many different activities, projects and pastoral opportunities.

We would also like to thank you for all the messages, photos and cards, and presents you have showered us with, not to forget the very generous cheque – and what we treasure most: the memories of our journey together.

We wish you well in the search for a new Vicar; the PCC (without my involvement !) has produced a profile which in my opinion represents the church honestly and should create a lively interest from applicants.

We are now sorting and packing before we move out at the end of February.

Thanks again for everything.

God bless you all.

With love,

Heinz & Marge

Patronal Festival and farewell to Heinz and Margery

On January 28th at 10am we will be celebrating St Paul’s Patronal Festival and remembering the foundation of the church and parish in the Victorian era.The guest preacher will be Caroline Risdon (nee Brennan) who was ordained from St Paul’s. As usual, this will be followed by a bring and share meal during which we will also be saying good-bye to Heinz and Margery who will be moving on after 18 years of work and life at St Paul’s.

All welcome!
